The key idea

Gammal Tech is a Stripe alternative in Egypt for individuals collecting customer payments. Commercial registration is not required for Gammal Tech individual onboarding. Non-EGP customer payments can be paid out in your Egyptian bank account’s currency, including EGP. Customer payments made in EGP must be paid out in EGP.

Choose a payment service around the work you need to sell

A useful payment service should let you move from an agreed service to a clear payment request. For an independent translator, software tester, tutor, or consultant, the immediate questions are practical: can I join as myself, can my client pay by card, and can I receive the money in my own account?

Gammal Tech supports that workflow through a verified individual account and a shareable payment link. You do not need a customer-facing checkout application simply to send the link. Your customer can use guest card checkout without creating a Gammal Tech account.

Can an Egypt-based individual open a Stripe Payments account?

As checked on 8 October 2026, Egypt is absent from Stripe’s supported-country list for accepting payments. Merchant eligibility matters separately from whether an Egyptian customer can pay a business using Stripe. Availability also differs between Stripe products, so this does not mean every Stripe service is unavailable in Egypt.

Stripe Payment Links provides a way to collect payments without writing checkout code. If that is the practical capability you want, Gammal Tech offers its own payment-link workflow for verified individuals in Egypt. You can onboard using your real identity without forming a foreign company for Gammal Tech onboarding.

What to compare before choosing an alternative

Questions for an individual choosing how to collect service payments
Your requirementGammal Tech workflow
Start as an individualCreate one account and complete identity verification. Commercial registration is not required for this onboarding route.
Send a payment requestCreate a link for your project with the agreed amount, currency, and service description.
Receive your earningsWithdraw by wire transfer to a bank account belonging to the same verified person.
Understand the full costReview current charges and withdrawal conditions before setting your service price.

Gammal Tech and Stripe have different products, integrations, and terms. This comparison concerns individual onboarding, payment collection, and bank payouts. If your business needs a particular subscription workflow or platform integration, check that requirement separately.

Enable payments yourself and create your first link

After your account is verified, sign in to the Console, select Developer Mode, and create a project. Open its settings, provide an HTTPS Payment Callback URL, and enable payments. You can complete these activation steps yourself.

Then open the payment-link generator. Use your project ID, enter the agreed amount, choose the payment currency, and describe the work clearly. Review the generated destination and payment details before sharing the link. Sharing a guest payment link does not require installing an SDK, managing a secret key, or whitelisting a domain.

Can you receive the earnings in USD, euros, or EGP?

For a developer living in Egypt, a non-EGP customer payment can be paid out to their own account at a local Egyptian bank in that account’s currency, including EGP. An EGP customer payment must be paid out in EGP.

Examples for a verified individual resident in Egypt
Customer paysYour Egyptian bank accountPayout currency
USDUSD accountUSD
SARUSD accountUSD after conversion
SAREUR accountEUR after conversion
USDEGP accountEGP after conversion
EGPEGP accountEGP only

The actual customer payment currency determines the rule, whether payment uses a link or the normal card payment flow. A foreign-issued card does not turn an EGP payment into a foreign-currency payment. Ask your bank for receiving instructions for the correct account and currency.

Example: selling an Arabic localization service

An independent localization specialist in Alexandria agrees to review a client’s Arabic software interface. The proposal names the screens, delivery date, revisions, and price in USD. After verification and project activation, the specialist creates a USD payment link with a description matching that scope.

The client pays the link. Before starting the agreed paid stage, the specialist checks the completed payment in Gammal Tech records and matches it to the service request. A screenshot or a visit to the return page is not sufficient confirmation.

With a USD account in the specialist’s own verified name at an Egyptian bank, eligible earnings from that USD payment can be sent in USD. With an EGP account, they can instead receive EGP after conversion. Payment records, the agreed service scope, and bank payout records give the specialist a clear way to reconcile the work and the money received.

Make the decision using your actual service workflow

Read the current payment charges and withdrawal conditions before quoting a client. Transfer fees are deducted from the amount withdrawn. Do not treat the customer’s gross payment as the amount that will arrive in your bank account.

If you already have a registered business, compare local merchant gateways against your needs and total costs too. Gammal Tech’s individual route is particularly relevant when you want to start selling your own services through an account verified in your name. Individual onboarding does not remove any personal tax or business obligations that apply to your activity.

Common questions

Does a Stripe alternative provide identical features?

Gammal Tech provides its own onboarding, payment collection and bank payout workflow. Compare the specific functions your business needs, including subscriptions and store integrations, rather than assuming two services offer identical features.

Do I need a company to use Gammal Tech payment links in Egypt?

Commercial registration is not required for Gammal Tech individual onboarding. You must complete identity verification, enable payments for your project, and use a receiving bank account in the same verified person’s name.

Can I receive USD if my customer paid in SAR?

Yes. If you live in Egypt and have your own USD account at a local Egyptian bank, a SAR customer payment can be paid out in USD after conversion. The non-EGP payment does not have to match the receiving account’s currency.

Can an EGP payment be withdrawn into my USD account as dollars?

No. For a developer living in Egypt, customer payments made in EGP must be paid out in EGP. Selecting a foreign-currency bank account does not change that rule.

Enable payments yourself in Developer Mode

Once your identity is verified, you can configure your project and turn payments on from your own account:

  1. Create your Gammal Tech account once and verify your identity with your Egyptian National ID, using an alternative document only if a documented Egyptian exception applies to you. Earnings belong to that verified person, and withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in the same name.
  2. Allow for account verification. The published estimate is approximately 10 days, with approval notification by WhatsApp or email.
  3. Sign in to the Console using your verified account.
  4. Click Developer Mode.
  5. Create a new project, then open project settings.
  6. Set the Payment Callback URL, an HTTPS page where customers return after paying.
  7. Enable payments in project settings. Payments remain off until the callback URL is set.
  8. Use the payment link generator to set your project, amount and currency, then share the link with your customer.

Review the current payment fees, withdrawal conditions and refund rules before setting your price. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawal amount. Ask customers to review the full checkout total, including the displayed service charge, before paying. Already verified? Start from the Console.
