The key idea
For a developer living in Egypt, Gammal Tech can pay non-EGP customer payments into the developer's own USD bank account in Egypt by wire transfer. USD payments can reach that account in USD; other non-EGP payments, such as SAR, require conversion to USD. Payments made in EGP must be paid out in EGP. The receiving account must match your verified identity.
What you need to receive your earnings in USD
Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.
The USD payout route described here is for developers and service providers who reside in Egypt and have a USD account at a local bank in Egypt. The account must belong to the same person whose identity Gammal Tech verified. A relative's dollar account cannot receive your withdrawal.
The second requirement concerns the actual customer payment: it must have been made in a currency other than EGP. A dollar price written in an email is not enough if the customer ultimately completes an EGP transaction.
Gammal Tech does not require commercial registration for individual onboarding. Egyptians may verify with their Egyptian National ID; the passport exception applies only to Egyptians abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. You create one personal account and use your own payment project for the services you sell.
Which customer payments can become a USD payout?
| Customer pays in | Receiving account | Payout result |
|---|---|---|
| USD | Your USD account in Egypt | USD by wire transfer |
| SAR | Your USD account in Egypt | USD after conversion |
| EUR | Your USD account in Egypt | USD after conversion |
| EGP | Your USD account in Egypt | Not eligible for USD payout; the payment must be paid out in EGP |
Non-EGP payments can also be paid out into your own Egyptian bank account in another currency, including EGP, with conversion where needed. USD is a choice tied to your receiving account, not a requirement for every international sale.
Set the customer payment currency before sharing checkout
If you agree a USD service price, choose USD when creating the payment link. After account verification, sign in to the Console, open Developer Mode and create your project. Open project settings, set the required HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments yourself.
Use the payment link generator with your project ID, the agreed amount, USD as the currency and a recognizable service description. Check those details before sending the link. Your client can use guest card checkout without creating a Gammal Tech account.
The same payout rule applies when customers use the normal card payment flow. What matters is the recorded transaction currency. A customer paying with a foreign-issued card does not turn an EGP transaction into a USD transaction.
Confirm the bank account can receive the USD wire
Ask your bank for the receiving instructions for your specific USD account. Check the beneficiary name, account identifier and any bank routing details the bank requires for an incoming wire. Use the instructions for the dollar account, rather than assuming the details for an EGP account are interchangeable.
Confirm that the beneficiary is your verified account holder and the receiving currency is USD. Your bank can explain any incoming-transfer documentation it needs for service earnings. Gammal Tech does not open the bank account for you, and banks' account requirements can differ.
Example: a web developer collecting a project milestone
Illustrative example: A web developer living in Mansoura agrees a USD price for the first milestone of a client's website. She creates a USD payment link identifying that milestone, checks the recorded payment after checkout and keeps it with the project agreement. Her receiving account is a USD account in her own name at an Egyptian bank. The eligible earnings can be sent there in USD by wire transfer.
If another client instead pays her in SAR, the payment remains eligible for payout to that USD account after conversion. If a client pays in EGP, she must receive that payment's payout in EGP. She cannot change the completed EGP transaction's eligibility by adding a USD bank account later.
Distinguish the payment amount from the amount you receive
A USD payment followed by a USD payout lets you receive dollars without choosing EGP as the payout currency. It does not mean the service is free or that the original payment amount arrives unchanged. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawn amount, and applicable payment deductions also affect your earnings.
Read the current fees and withdrawal conditions before quoting. For a cross-currency payout, such as SAR to USD, confirm the applicable conversion terms as well. Check the applicable rate, deductions and transfer status when planning how to use the proceeds.
Keep the sale and the withdrawal connected
Keep the service agreement, payment reference, transaction currency and delivery record together. Before supplying paid work, verify the payment in Gammal Tech's transaction records. A customer's screenshot or a successful return to your callback page is not sufficient proof on its own.
When the payout arrives, reconcile it with the relevant earnings and deductions. These records help you explain the source of the money and understand what you retained from the assignment. Gammal Tech handles the VAT and transaction tax responsibilities assigned to it under its service arrangements. Keep records for your own applicable income-tax and business obligations as well.
Common questions
Can I receive USD in Egypt without a registered company?
Gammal Tech supports individual onboarding without requiring commercial registration. For the USD payout route, you must reside in Egypt, complete identity verification, receive a non-EGP customer payment and have your own USD account at a local Egyptian bank.
Does the customer have to pay in USD for me to receive USD?
No. Other non-EGP payments, such as SAR or EUR, can be paid into your USD account after conversion. EGP payments cannot be paid out in USD.
Can I receive dollars without conversion to Egyptian pounds?
Yes. An eligible USD customer payment can be paid out in USD to your own USD account in Egypt. Applicable fees still affect the amount received. Other non-EGP payment currencies require conversion if the payout is USD.
Can a US customer's EGP payment be withdrawn in dollars?
No. The actual payment currency determines the rule. An EGP transaction must be paid out in EGP, regardless of the customer's location or card currency.
Can I choose an EGP account for my USD earnings instead?
Yes. Non-EGP customer payments can be paid out in the currency of your own local Egyptian bank account, including EGP, with conversion where needed.
