The key idea

Non-EGP customer payments can be paid out in the currency of your own bank account in Egypt, including EGP. If the customer pays in EGP, the payout must remain EGP. The receiving account must belong to the same person verified by Gammal Tech. Conversion and deductions mean the customer's payment amount and your final bank credit are different figures to reconcile.

Choose EGP when it fits how you use your earnings

An international client can pay for your service in a supported foreign currency while you receive the proceeds in Egyptian pounds. This is useful when you want earnings available for local expenses and already have an appropriate EGP bank account in your own name.

You do not need a USD account just because the customer pays in USD. Under Gammal Tech's payout policy for developers resident in Egypt, that payment can instead be converted for payout to your EGP account. Decide how you want to receive your proceeds before quoting, so your price accounts for the applicable charges.

The currency the customer pays determines the available route

For non-EGP payments, the policy also permits payout in another receiving account's currency when that local account belongs to the verified developer. EGP payments cannot be withdrawn in USD or EUR by selecting a foreign-currency account.

The relevant currency is the actual customer transaction currency. A foreign-issued card, the customer's location or a conversion shown on their card statement does not turn an EGP transaction into a foreign-currency payment.

Give the client a clear price and payment link

Agree the service, amount and currency with your client. Once your Gammal Tech account is verified, sign in to the Console, select Developer Mode and create a project. Open its settings, set an HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments yourself.

Use the payment link generator with your project ID, agreed amount, customer payment currency and a description identifying the work. Your planned EGP withdrawal does not require an EGP checkout: use USD if the customer agreed to pay in USD. The same payout rule applies when the customer uses the normal card payment flow.

Connect the payment to work you can deliver

Illustrative example: A product-image editor in Cairo agrees a EUR-priced assignment with an online retailer abroad. The quote identifies the supplied photographs, final image sizes and revision allowance. The editor sends a EUR payment link and plans to withdraw the earnings to their own Egyptian EGP account for local business expenses.

After checking the payment in Gammal Tech's records, the editor completes the agreed work and keeps the delivery confirmation. The EUR customer payment is eligible for EGP payout after conversion. The editor records the eventual bank credit rather than treating the quote's estimated EGP equivalent as the amount received.

Prepare your own Egyptian bank account

The receiving account must be at a local bank in Egypt and belong to the same person whose identity is verified by Gammal Tech. Withdrawals are sent by wire transfer. Ask your bank for the correct receiving instructions for your EGP account and supply those details accurately through the applicable withdrawal process.

Check the beneficiary name, account currency and bank-provided identifiers before requesting a transfer. Gammal Tech does not open a bank account for you. If your service operates under a brand, keep the receiving account tied to your verified personal identity; the brand name does not authorize another person to collect your earnings.

Track the payment, deductions and final bank credit

Keep the customer payment and the bank payout as linked records. Save the service reference, original payment amount and currency, relevant withdrawal record and amount actually credited in EGP. These records help you explain why a foreign-currency sale and its local bank credit use different amounts.

Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawn amount. Use the current payment and withdrawal terms for charges and conditions. Check the applicable conversion terms and transfer status when planning your spending. Review applicable conversion information before relying on a net EGP amount, particularly when a local expense has a fixed due date.

Start collecting for your own service as an individual

Gammal Tech's individual onboarding does not require commercial registration. Complete identity verification once and use a payment project you own. A customer paying through your guest card link does not need a Gammal Tech account, and sharing that link requires no SDK installation or secret key.

Verify the recorded payment before delivery; a screenshot or return page alone is not payment confirmation. Keep your service and payment records for the obligations applying to your activity. For a complete first-client process, read the international freelance payments guide for Egypt.

Common questions

Can I get paid in USD and withdraw in EGP in Egypt?

Yes. If you live in Egypt, a non-EGP customer payment can be paid out to your own EGP bank account at a local Egyptian bank after conversion. The bank account must belong to the same person verified by Gammal Tech.

Do I need a dollar account to receive a dollar customer's payment?

You do not need a USD account if you want the proceeds paid out in EGP. To receive the payout in USD instead, you need your own USD account at a local bank in Egypt.

Can an EGP payment later be withdrawn in euros?

No. A customer payment made in EGP must be paid out in EGP. Choosing a euro account or using a foreign-issued customer card does not change that rule.

Should I set my payment link to EGP because my bank account is in EGP?

Set the link to the currency agreed with your customer. A USD, EUR or other supported non-EGP payment can still be paid out to your own EGP account in Egypt after conversion.

Can I calculate a guaranteed EGP payout from the invoice alone?

No. The invoice states what the customer pays. Conversion and applicable deductions affect the final EGP proceeds. Refer to the current Gammal Tech terms and reconcile the withdrawal with the actual bank credit.

Enable payments yourself in Developer Mode

Once your identity is verified, you can configure your project and turn payments on from your own account:

  1. Create your Gammal Tech account once and verify your identity with your Egyptian National ID, using an alternative document only if a documented Egyptian exception applies to you. Earnings belong to that verified person, and withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in the same name.
  2. Allow for account verification. The published estimate is approximately 10 days, with approval notification by WhatsApp or email.
  3. Sign in to the Console using your verified account.
  4. Click Developer Mode.
  5. Create a new project, then open project settings.
  6. Set the Payment Callback URL, an HTTPS page where customers return after paying.
  7. Enable payments in project settings. Payments remain off until the callback URL is set.
  8. Use the payment link generator to set your project, amount and currency, then share the link with your customer.

Review the current payment fees, withdrawal conditions and refund rules before setting your price. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawal amount. Ask customers to review the full checkout total, including the displayed service charge, before paying. Already verified? Start from the Console.
