The key idea

For a developer resident in Egypt, SAR and AED customer payments are non-EGP payments. They can be paid out to the developer's own USD, EUR, EGP or other currency bank account in Egypt, in that account's currency. Conversion applies when the currencies differ. A payment actually made in EGP must be paid out in EGP, regardless of where the customer lives.

Agree the work and currency before requesting payment

Start with the service your client needs: what you will deliver, the agreed completion date, any revision allowance and the payment amount. Ask which supported currency they want to use. A Saudi customer might choose SAR and a UAE customer AED, but their country alone does not determine the transaction currency.

Keep the same currency in the quote, payment request and checkout. A clear description such as the project name and agreed milestone helps the client recognize the charge. If the client needs an invoice addressed to their business, settle those requirements before sending the link.

Choose the receiving account around your own needs

You can price a service in SAR or AED without holding a SAR or AED bank account. Under Gammal Tech's policy for developers living in Egypt, a non-EGP payment can be paid out in the currency of your own account at a local Egyptian bank, including EGP.

Examples for an Egyptian resident serving Saudi or UAE clients
Customer paysYour account in EgyptPayout
SARUSD accountUSD after conversion
SAREUR accountEUR after conversion
AEDUSD accountUSD after conversion
AED or SAREGP accountEGP after conversion
EGPEGP accountEGP only

These examples illustrate the currency rule. Your receiving bank must provide the correct instructions for the account you actually hold. The account must belong to the same person verified by Gammal Tech.

Keep each client's payment tied to their own work

Illustrative example: A motion designer in Alexandria creates menu-screen animations for a Saudi restaurant at a SAR price and a course introduction for a UAE training company at an AED price. The designer creates a separate payment request for each agreed assignment and identifies the work in each description.

The designer wants to receive the earnings in their own USD bank account in Egypt. Both SAR and AED are non-EGP customer payment currencies, so both are eligible for USD payout after conversion. The designer records each original payment separately and matches the withdrawal records to the resulting bank credit.

For staged work, explain which deliverable each payment covers and request the next agreed payment when appropriate.

Confirm the payment before delivery and prepare the wire transfer

Check the completed payment in Gammal Tech's records before releasing the agreed paid deliverable. A customer screenshot or arrival at the callback page alone is not enough to confirm payment. Keep the approved scope, payment reference and delivery evidence together.

For withdrawal, use your own receiving account at a local bank in Egypt. Check the beneficiary name and currency against the bank's receiving instructions, then provide the required details through the withdrawal process. Gammal Tech sends the payout by wire transfer. A client's location does not authorize payout to a relative, business partner or other person's account.

Account for conversion and deductions when setting your price

A SAR sale paid out in USD and an AED sale paid out in EGP both involve different customer and receiving currencies. Do not treat the checkout amount as the final bank credit. Use the current payment, refund and withdrawal terms when deciding what to charge and explaining payment conditions to your customer.

Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawn amount. Review applicable conversion information and reconcile the actual credit against your withdrawal record. If you prefer local proceeds, see the guide to receiving foreign payments in EGP.

Start in your own name from Egypt

Gammal Tech supports individual onboarding without requiring commercial registration. Complete identity verification and use the project owned by your verified account. You can then request payment for your own agreed services from clients abroad.

This guide concerns a service provider resident in Egypt, with a receiving bank account in Egypt. It does not describe merchant onboarding in Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Keep your own business and tax records for the requirements applying to your work, and use marketplace billing rules for assignments obtained through a marketplace.

Common questions

Can I receive SAR payments in a USD bank account in Egypt?

Yes. For a developer living in Egypt, a SAR customer payment can be converted and paid out to their own USD account at a local Egyptian bank. The receiving account must belong to the person verified by Gammal Tech.

Can UAE clients pay in AED while I receive EGP?

Yes. An AED payment is a non-EGP payment and can be paid out in EGP after conversion to your own EGP account at a local bank in Egypt. Transfer charges are deducted from the payout.

Must a Saudi client pay in SAR?

No. Agree a supported customer payment currency together and use it in the payment request. The customer's country does not determine the currency of the transaction or require a matching receiving account.

What if a Saudi or UAE customer pays in EGP?

That payment must be paid out in EGP. The client's location, nationality or card's issuing country does not change the EGP-only payout rule.

Can SAR payments be paid into my euro account in Egypt?

Yes. A SAR customer payment can be paid out in EUR after conversion if you live in Egypt and hold the receiving EUR account at a local Egyptian bank in your verified name.

Enable payments yourself in Developer Mode

Once your identity is verified, you can configure your project and turn payments on from your own account:

  1. Create your Gammal Tech account once and verify your identity with your Egyptian National ID, using an alternative document only if a documented Egyptian exception applies to you. Earnings belong to that verified person, and withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in the same name.
  2. Allow for account verification. The published estimate is approximately 10 days, with approval notification by WhatsApp or email.
  3. Sign in to the Console using your verified account.
  4. Click Developer Mode.
  5. Create a new project, then open project settings.
  6. Set the Payment Callback URL, an HTTPS page where customers return after paying.
  7. Enable payments in project settings. Payments remain off until the callback URL is set.
  8. Use the payment link generator to set your project, amount and currency, then share the link with your customer.

Review the current payment fees, withdrawal conditions and refund rules before setting your price. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawal amount. Ask customers to review the full checkout total, including the displayed service charge, before paying. Already verified? Start from the Console.
