The key idea

If you live in Egypt and have a EUR account at a local Egyptian bank, Gammal Tech can send eligible service earnings to that account in euros by wire transfer. The customer must have paid in a non-EGP currency. EUR payments can be paid out in EUR, and other non-EGP payments can be converted to EUR. EGP payments must be paid out in EGP.

Separate the quote, the customer charge and your payout

For an international service, three currency choices can appear in the same conversation. The quote tells the client what they agree to pay. The checkout currency determines the actual transaction. Your receiving account determines the currency in which you want the eligible earnings paid out.

Keep the quote and checkout consistent. If you agree a EUR amount, use EUR for the payment request and explain the checkout total before the client pays. A euro symbol on a proposal does not make an EGP checkout a euro payment.

The client's own bank may show a charge in another currency on their statement. That does not change the transaction currency recorded by Gammal Tech. A EUR payment does not require a European client.

Use a EUR account belonging to your verified identity

Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.

This payout route applies when you reside in Egypt and hold a EUR bank account at a local bank in Egypt. The account must be in the name of the same individual verified by Gammal Tech. You cannot direct your earnings to a friend's account or use another person's identity to set up the payment project.

Ask your bank for the receiving instructions for that specific euro account and confirm any supporting records it requires for incoming service earnings. Do not assume an EGP account can hold euros or that every bank offers the same account facilities.

For Gammal Tech individual onboarding, commercial registration is not required. Egyptians can verify with their Egyptian National ID; the passport exception applies only to Egyptians abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. The payment arrangement lets you start with your own service and your own verified account.

Turn a client brief into a clear euro payment request

  1. Define the delivery. State what the client receives, the deadline, revision allowance and the agreed EUR price.
  2. Activate your project. After verification, sign in to the Console, open Developer Mode and create a project. In project settings, set an HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments.
  3. Create the request. Open the payment link generator, enter your project ID and amount, choose EUR and describe the service or milestone.
  4. Confirm the recorded payment. Check the transaction and currency in Gammal Tech before delivering paid work.

The client can pay through guest card checkout without a Gammal Tech account. The same currency eligibility applies to a EUR payment made through the normal card payment flow.

Example: an Egyptian translator serving a European publisher

Illustrative example: A translator living in Cairo agrees to translate a publisher's product catalogue into Arabic. The agreement specifies the supplied word count, the EUR price and a review round. The translator sends a EUR payment link tied to that assignment. After confirming payment, she completes the work and can receive the eligible earnings in her own EUR account at an Egyptian bank.

For a later assignment, a different client asks to pay in USD. She can agree a USD price and use a USD checkout while retaining her EUR receiving account. Because the payment is non-EGP, the eligible payout can be converted to EUR. Her records should preserve the original USD sale and the eventual EUR receipt separately.

Understand the alternatives when the client pays another currency

How common service payment currencies relate to an Egyptian resident's receiving account
Payment and accountWhat happens
EUR payment, own EUR accountEligible earnings can be paid out in EUR.
SAR or USD payment, own EUR accountEligible earnings can be converted and paid out in EUR.
EUR payment, own EGP accountEligible earnings can be converted and paid out in EGP.
EGP payment, own EUR accountThe payment cannot be paid out in EUR. It must be paid out in EGP.

More generally, non-EGP payments can be paid out in the currency of your own bank account in Egypt, including EGP. Choosing a different receiving account does not remove the EGP-only rule for EGP customer payments.

Price the work with deductions and conversion in mind

Consult the current payment, withdrawal and refund conditions before finalizing a quote. The client's payment, your available earnings and the bank receipt are different amounts to track. Transfer fees are deducted from the amount withdrawn.

When payment and payout currencies differ, confirm the conversion terms that apply. A USD sale paid out in EUR does not imply a fixed rate or a guaranteed euro amount. Even when both currencies are EUR, receiving euros does not mean there are no fees.

Make repeat work easy to identify and reconcile

Use a clear assignment reference in the payment description and keep it with the accepted quote, delivery and transaction record. Match each bank receipt to the associated withdrawal and deductions.

Verify actual payment records rather than relying on screenshots or the customer reaching a return page. Gammal Tech handles the VAT and transaction tax responsibilities assigned to it under its service arrangements. Keep documentation for the reporting requirements applying to your personal income and activity as well.

Common questions

Can I get paid in euros while living in Egypt?

Yes. Through Gammal Tech, eligible non-EGP customer payments can be paid out by wire transfer to your own EUR account at a local Egyptian bank. You must complete identity verification, and the beneficiary must be the same verified person.

Can a Saudi-riyal payment be received in my euro account?

Yes. SAR is a non-EGP payment currency, so eligible earnings can be converted to EUR for payout to your own EUR account in Egypt.

Do I need a bank account in Europe?

No. This guide describes payout to your own EUR account at a local bank in Egypt. Ask that bank for the correct incoming-wire instructions for the account.

Can I withdraw an EGP payment in euros?

No. EGP customer payments must be paid out in EGP. Having a euro account does not change that restriction.

Can a EUR payment reach my Egyptian-pound account?

Yes. A non-EGP payment can be converted for payout to your own EGP account in Egypt. Review the applicable charges and conversion terms when planning the amount you expect to receive.

Enable payments yourself in Developer Mode

Once your identity is verified, you can configure your project and turn payments on from your own account:

  1. Create your Gammal Tech account once and verify your identity with your Egyptian National ID, using an alternative document only if a documented Egyptian exception applies to you. Earnings belong to that verified person, and withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in the same name.
  2. Allow for account verification. The published estimate is approximately 10 days, with approval notification by WhatsApp or email.
  3. Sign in to the Console using your verified account.
  4. Click Developer Mode.
  5. Create a new project, then open project settings.
  6. Set the Payment Callback URL, an HTTPS page where customers return after paying.
  7. Enable payments in project settings. Payments remain off until the callback URL is set.
  8. Use the payment link generator to set your project, amount and currency, then share the link with your customer.

Review the current payment fees, withdrawal conditions and refund rules before setting your price. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawal amount. Ask customers to review the full checkout total, including the displayed service charge, before paying. Already verified? Start from the Console.
