The key idea
For an individual in the Philippines serving international clients, Gammal Tech offers identity-verified accounts and shareable guest card payment links. Customers can pay without creating a Gammal Tech account, and withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in your verified name. Compare that workflow with domestic transfers and marketplace payments according to your customers, then confirm your receiving bank and currency before accepting funds.
Start with who is paying you
The right payment gateway in the Philippines depends on your sale. A local customer paying in pesos, an overseas business paying by card and a client booking through a marketplace are different situations. Decide which one you need to solve first.
Illustrative example: An independent video editor in Cebu finds a direct client in Australia. They agree on four edited interviews, caption files and a delivery schedule. The client wants to pay by card against a written proposal. A shareable card payment link can support that sale without turning the editor's portfolio into a full shop.
Start with one package that is easy to describe and deliver. A good payment process makes an agreed service easier to buy; the portfolio, proposal and communication still establish why the customer should choose you.
Domestic peso transfers and international checkout solve different needs
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas InstaPay FAQ describes transfers of Philippine-peso funds between accounts at participating banks and electronic-money issuers in the Philippines. That is a useful domestic route, but an overseas client asking for card checkout has a different requirement.
| Customer situation | Route to consider | Main decision |
|---|---|---|
| A local client has a participating peso account | A suitable domestic transfer service | Required payment reference and your bank's terms |
| A direct international client wants card checkout | A Gammal Tech guest payment link | Supported currency, total charges and withdrawal route |
| The client hired you through a marketplace | The marketplace's approved billing process | Platform contract and release conditions |
| A registered business needs several local methods | A local acquiring comparison | Payment coverage, integration and ongoing costs |
Gammal Tech does not document InstaPay, GCash or Maya as payment methods for these card links. Do not advertise a local method simply because your customer already uses it for other purchases.
What opening an individual account means
Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.
You can apply to Gammal Tech as a person without commercial registration as an onboarding requirement. Your identity is verified using the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold. The account and its withdrawals remain tied to that verified individual, rather than to a borrowed identity or somebody else's bank details.
Prepare the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, a clear description of the service you sell, your own bank account information and the currency you expect to receive. Ask support to confirm that the proposed account and withdrawal route are eligible before collecting customer funds.
This individual onboarding policy is separate from Philippine requirements that may apply to your activity. Gammal Tech handles the VAT and tax obligations assigned to it under its service arrangements. Your personal income tax, local registration and reporting obligations remain separate.
Move from verification to a usable payment link
- Register and verify. Create your account at Gammal Tech and complete identity verification.
- Configure a project. In developer mode, create the project and set its HTTPS Payment Callback URL. This setting is required before payments are enabled.
- Define the first offer. Agree the deliverable, date, revisions, amount and currency with the customer.
- Create the link. Use the payment link generator and choose a supported currency.
- Share it where the agreement happened. Send the link with an order reference through email or a message, then confirm the transaction in your merchant records.
Link sharing itself needs no SDK integration, secret key or domain whitelisting. The project still needs its callback setup. This gives you a lighter starting point than building a complete ecommerce store while keeping the payment connected to your project.
Evaluate the whole payment process
Look beyond whether a checkout accepts cards. Read the current payment fees and withdrawal rules to understand merchant charges, customer charges and transfer deductions. Include those costs when deciding whether a small one-off job or a larger service package makes commercial sense.
Quote the supported checkout currency explicitly, such as USD, EUR or GBP. A customer paying in one currency does not guarantee withdrawal in that currency or automatic Philippine-peso settlement. Confirm how the eligible receiving account handles the payout and any conversion.
Think about your client's experience as well. They should see a recognizable service description, understand the total before authorizing payment and know what happens next. For exact order-handling steps, use the separate guide to accepting card payments from direct clients in the Philippines.
Keep ownership clear as your work grows
Withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in the same name as your verified account. That remains the rule if you travel or later use a supported account in another country. Confirm changes to the receiving country, account or currency before relying on them for a client project.
For ongoing work, monthly or yearly recurring guest links are available in supported non-EGP currencies. Use them for a clearly agreed continuing service, with the billing period, scope and cancellation terms stated before the client subscribes.
Keep the proposal, payment record and delivered work connected to the same order reference. This helps you answer a client's question, reconcile a withdrawal and understand which services are worth repeating. Start with a process you can explain in a few sentences, then add automation when your order volume makes it useful.
Common questions
Can a freelancer in the Philippines use Gammal Tech without a company?
Gammal Tech offers individual onboarding without commercial registration as a provider requirement. You must verify your identity and use an eligible same-name receiving account. Local obligations connected to your work remain separate.
Is Gammal Tech the same as InstaPay?
No. InstaPay transfers Philippine-peso funds between participating domestic accounts. The Gammal Tech workflow described here lets a customer pay through a guest card checkout and lets the verified account holder request a bank withdrawal under the platform's current terms.
Does my customer need a Gammal Tech account?
A customer using a guest card payment link does not need a Gammal Tech account. That payment does not automatically create a signed-in account for your own application.
Should I choose a gateway only by its transaction fee?
Compare account eligibility, your customers' preferred methods, checkout charges, bank withdrawals and the work needed to deliver your service. Check the current commercial terms before deciding whether the complete process fits your business.
