The key idea
For a Nigerian freelancer or individual service provider, Gammal Tech offers international card payment links tied to the verified account owner. Complete National ID verification, configure your project and its required HTTPS Payment Callback URL, then share a link for an agreed service. Confirm your receiving bank details before collecting funds: withdrawals must reach an eligible account in your own verified name.
Choose a payment route around the client you want to serve
A designer in Lagos working for an overseas agency has a different payment problem from a shop collecting local transfers. Start with three questions: where is the customer, how do they want to pay, and which account will receive your earnings? Those answers are more useful than a long list of gateway features.
Nigeria already has account-based electronic transfers. NIBSS explains that its Instant Payments service uses bank account numbers to support transfers through financial institutions. Gammal Tech's documented guest payment route here is card checkout. It should not be presented to customers as a NIP transfer, USSD collection or Nigerian virtual-account payment.
Gammal Tech is relevant when you want to sell your own service and give an international customer a card payment link. An established company with different collection needs should compare local acquiring options alongside its international requirements.
Start with your identity and one well-defined offer
Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.
Gammal Tech does not require commercial registration for its individual account onboarding. The account represents one verified person, and international applicants follow National ID verification. Your business can have a service name, but that name does not replace the identity of the person entitled to withdraw the money.
Illustrative example: A motion designer in Lagos offers a short product animation to an agency in Berlin. The offer states the length, file formats, revision limit and delivery date. The designer collects an agreed project payment through a card link, completes the work and keeps the brief and delivery record together.
This is an achievable first business unit: one customer, one defined outcome and one accountable owner. You can add more services after you understand which work customers buy and how long it takes you to deliver.
Prepare the Nigerian bank account before the first sale
Do not assume the card checkout currency and your bank's receiving currency are identical. GTBank's inward foreign-currency transfer guidance, for example, describes credits into domiciliary accounts and identifies receiving-bank SWIFT information. That illustrates why international receiving instructions are different from simply copying a local account number.
Ask your own bank for instructions appropriate to the expected transfer currency and service income. Then confirm with Gammal Tech that the account and route are eligible. A bank's ability to receive international transfers is not confirmation of a particular Gammal Tech payout route.
| Detail | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Beneficiary name | The receiving account belongs to the same verified person. |
| Bank instructions | Account details, SWIFT/BIC and any applicable routing information. |
| Currency | The currency the account can receive and any conversion involved. |
| Records | Documents your bank needs to explain the service and source of funds. |
Set up the payment step without building a full store
- Create your Gammal Tech account and complete the required verification.
- Open Developer Mode, create your project and configure its HTTPS Payment Callback URL. Payments remain disabled until that setting is supplied.
- Enable payments, then open the payment link generator with your public Project ID, amount and supported currency.
- Share the link alongside the agreed service description through email, a message or your website.
- Check the recorded payment in your dashboard before starting the paid work or releasing the deliverable.
A guest paying through a card link does not need a Gammal Tech account. Sharing that link does not require an SDK, secret key or domain whitelisting. The project still needs the callback setting, so arrange that small setup step before sending a live request.
Make the price and delivery agreement easy to understand
Quote a supported currency, such as USD, EUR or GBP, that works for the customer. Do not imply a naira checkout option unless it is included in the current supported-currency list. Agree what is included, when work starts and how additional work is priced.
Use the current fees and withdrawal rules when calculating your offer. Merchant charges affect your proceeds, customer charges affect checkout totals, and transfer fees are deducted from the amount withdrawn. Share the complete payment expectation before the customer opens checkout. Keep changing fee figures in that central reference rather than copying them into an old quotation.
Keep the service reliable as orders grow
Give each order a reference in your own records. Keep its scope, payment record, agreed delivery date and final files together. A screenshot supplied by the customer is not payment verification; check your account records. If you later automate delivery, validate the expected project, amount, currency and order through a trusted process that prevents duplicate fulfilment.
Gammal Tech handles the VAT and tax obligations assigned to it under its service arrangements. Your personal income tax, local registration and reporting obligations remain separate. The ability to onboard as an individual should make your payment setup simpler while you keep appropriate business records.
Travelling does not turn your account into somebody else's. You may use an eligible account you own in another supported country, subject to banking requirements, but the verified owner must remain the recipient. Review the new receiving details before redirecting a withdrawal.
Common questions
Can an individual in Nigeria use Gammal Tech without company registration?
Gammal Tech does not require company registration for individual onboarding. You must complete its identity verification and project setup. This provider requirement is separate from any local registration or tax obligations that apply to your work.
Can I withdraw to a friend's account or a business partner's account?
No. The receiving bank account must belong to the same person whose identity was verified for the Gammal Tech account. Confirm the receiving account and currency route before collecting payments.
Does this payment link collect NIP transfers or USSD payments?
This guide describes Gammal Tech guest card payment links. It does not claim integration with NIP, Nigerian virtual accounts or USSD collection.
Do I need a website before I can share a payment link?
You do not need a full online store. Your project does need an HTTPS Payment Callback URL before payments can be enabled. After setup, share card links through messages, email or a website.
