Your starting point

Use Gammal Tech AI to move from a focused idea to a first working version in minutes when the brief is approved and the required setup is ready. Refine it with [mode: idea], then use [mode: build] for the frontend, backend, database, authentication and payments. Actual build time depends on scope, account readiness and integrations.

The app and the problem it solves

A destination can look ideal until a weekly team meeting moves into the middle of the night. For an Egyptian developer working with colleagues abroad, the important question is often practical: which working hours remain usable while travelling? OverlapTrip turns that question into a calendar comparison.

This graduation project focuses on scheduling, rather than job search or destination affordability. A user enters a travel period, a destination time zone and recurring commitments. The app reveals workable overlaps and awkward dates, including weeks when daylight-saving changes affect the relationship between locations.

The first user journey

  1. The user records their home and team time zones using named regions, along with working windows and fixed meeting times.
  2. They add a proposed destination and travel dates, plus protected rest hours that should remain free of meetings.
  3. The app converts each dated commitment and displays overlap minutes, local meeting times and conflicts for the whole period.
  4. The user compares two travel schedules, saves the preferable one and exports a readable working-hours plan.

The logic that makes the project distinct

Store a meeting’s source time zone and recurrence rule, then resolve each occurrence on its actual date. Do not store Cairo or any destination as one permanent UTC offset. Use a maintained time-zone database, and distinguish a meeting fixed to an instant from one recurring at a local wall-clock time.

An overlap is the intersection of two working intervals after conversion to a common timeline. For overnight windows, split or represent them across their actual dates. If a clock change makes a local time ambiguous or nonexistent, ask for a resolution instead of silently choosing. The app’s schedule calculation says nothing about permission to work in a destination.

overlap minutes = max(0, min(end A, end B) − max(start A, start B))
Apply the comparison to each dated interval on a common timeline.

A classroom demonstration

In a hypothetical UTC-normalised example, one working window runs from 07:00 to 15:00 and another from 10:00 to 18:00. Their overlap is five hours. A proposed schedule that moves the first window to 04:00–12:00 leaves only two hours. Display the local equivalents for the actual dates, without assuming that today’s offsets apply throughout the trip.

Data, interface and backend

Ask for a full-stack application: a phone-friendly frontend, backend logic, a database for persistent work, authentication for the personal workspace and payments for the defined offer. Start with private user workspaces and a small, inspectable dataset. These records give the model a concrete starting point:

Proposed records for the first version
RecordWhat it stores
CommitmentsNamed time zone, recurrence, duration and fixed meeting status.
Travel periodsDestination zone, arrival date, departure date and rest windows.
ComparisonsDaily overlap, conflicts, unresolved times and saved choices.

With Gammal Tech services, personal app data belongs to the user’s workspace. Signing in does not disclose their Gammal Tech account email, phone number or identity to your app. If a later version shares records between people, specify the sharing model and permissions explicitly in the build brief.

A specific paid offer

Sell a travel-period comparison report or a package of saved workation schedules. Start with one person managing their own commitments; shared team editing can come later with a separate permissions design. The first paid value is identifying difficult working days before someone commits to travel.

Define the deliverable, price and currency before checkout. Confirm payment with the provider and associate the entitlement with the correct order; a success screen alone is insufficient. Complete the required account and payment setup before real use, and review the applicable operating costs and payment terms.

Refine the idea with [mode: idea]

1. Open the conversation. Open the Gammal Tech WhatsApp conversation with +201033998844. Open the link first, then continue inside WhatsApp.

2. Start Idea mode. Copy the following command into a message by itself and press Send. The square brackets [ ] are required; keep the colon and space too.

[mode: idea]

3. Wait for the mode-change confirmation, then send the brief. Send the following text as a new message, adapting it to your team. Answer the assistant’s questions about the audience, first version and paid value until the idea is approved.

Refine OverlapTrip as a travel SaaS graduation project for students in Egypt. Focus on one remote worker comparing travel periods against meetings and rest hours. Define the difference between recurring local times and fixed instants, the smallest useful report and a paid feature. Propose usability tests for clock changes and overnight schedules.

Build the project with [mode: build]

4. Move to Build after the idea is approved. In the same WhatsApp conversation, send the following command by itself, including the square brackets, then press Send.

[mode: build]

5. Wait for the mode-change confirmation, then send the requirements. Use the following message as a starting brief. Agree the scope of the frontend, backend, persistent data, login and payments. Ask about access, setup and fees, and approve the scope and cost before work begins. Simple versions can be prepared in minutes once prerequisites are ready; timing depends on the project scope.

Build OverlapTrip with an English frontend, backend, database, authentication and payments. Add named time zones, dated recurring meetings, working windows and travel alternatives. Calculate daily overlap and flag rest-hour conflicts, ambiguous times and missing inputs. Save each user’s plans privately and add a paid comparison report with verified access. Use maintained time-zone data rather than fixed country offsets.

The buttons prepare the command in WhatsApp. Press Send to start the conversation.

6. Review the result and leave the mode when you finish. Open the project link and try the user journey and test cases described in this article. For a correction, name the page and the result you expect. To return to the normal assistant, send the following command by itself, including both square brackets:

[exit]

What to demonstrate at graduation

  • Compare a period before and after a clock change and confirm that each meeting uses the offset for its own date.
  • Test a working window that crosses midnight without reversing its start and end.
  • Create identical windows and disjoint windows; the overlap should equal the full duration and zero respectively.

Demonstrate two destinations with the same apparent offset today but a different relationship during the planned dates. Ask users to identify their hardest working day from the report. This tests whether the app communicates the schedule, not merely whether it draws a colourful calendar.

Demonstrate the interface, the decision logic and saved work after login. Explain your own understanding, assumptions and evaluation, following your university’s rules on AI assistance. A classroom demonstration can use clearly labelled sample payment states without making a charge. Those samples are not a Gammal Tech gateway test mode; gateway transactions involve real money.

Does a workable schedule mean remote work is permitted there?

No. The app handles time planning. The traveller must check the destination’s applicable immigration, work and other requirements separately.

Sources and next steps

Recheck sources and service terms when implementing. Fictional data and prices in this article illustrate the project, rather than current offers.
