The key idea
Gammal Tech offers individual payment accounts without commercial registration as a provider onboarding requirement. A freelancer in Tunisia can apply, complete National ID verification and configure a project for guest card links. Before collecting funds, confirm an eligible bank account in the same verified name and its currency requirements. Your client pays through checkout; the later bank withdrawal follows its own conditions and documentation.
Start with a service that has a clear finish
Instead of offering to do anything a client needs, create a small service with an identifiable outcome. A software testing report, a research summary, a remote lesson or a product-data cleanup can each become a complete offer. Specify what the customer provides, what you deliver and what is outside the scope.
Illustrative example: A software tester in Sfax offers a French business a review of its online booking journey. The package covers agreed browsers, a reproducible issue list and one retest after fixes. The client approves the scope and receives a card payment link for that package.
The tester can sell this service directly without building a full ecommerce catalogue. A written offer and a straightforward payment request make it easier for the client to move from interest to a booked piece of work.
Match the gateway to how the client wants to buy
When comparing an international payment gateway in Tunisia, start with the customer's payment need. A direct client who wants to use a card can receive a Gammal Tech guest payment link. A client buying through a marketplace should use its approved billing process. A business needing domestic acquiring or a particular local payment method should compare those requirements explicitly.
Gammal Tech's guest card route does not require the customer to create a Gammal Tech account. You can share a link in the conversation where the service was agreed, with a short description and reference. This keeps the buying process close to the proposal instead of introducing an unnecessary catalogue.
For a registered business with an established checkout, compare the whole arrangement: account ownership, payment methods, integration, total charges and bank settlement. The individual route is especially relevant when you are building your own service from the beginning.
Choose a bank account for the kind of income you earn
A useful local distinction is the professional foreign-currency account. UBCI's account guidance includes professional individuals with foreign-currency income from an activity established in Tunisia, subject to exchange regulations. BIAT's guidance similarly describes holding professional export or overseas-service income and using foreign currency for permitted operations.
This does not mean every personal account is suitable, or that either bank has a Gammal Tech payout partnership. It gives you a concrete question for your own bank: which account can receive the proceeds from this service, under my current professional and residence status?
Describe your work accurately and explain that a payment platform will send the withdrawal. Ask which agreement, invoice and payment records the bank needs, whether funds are retained or converted, and what current requirements apply to receiving and repatriating the income. Confirm any unclear payout eligibility with Gammal Tech before collecting customer funds.
Keep the quote, payment and bank credit understandable
An overseas customer may prefer a quote in EUR or USD. Choosing a supported checkout currency helps make the price understandable to that customer, but it does not establish how every receiving bank will handle the withdrawal.
| Record | What to include | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Client agreement | Service, price, currency and delivery terms | Explains what the customer bought |
| Payment record | Order reference and confirmed transaction | Connects checkout to the agreement |
| Withdrawal record | Requested amount and applicable deductions | Explains the payment platform's transfer |
| Bank credit | Amount received and currency treatment | Completes the income record |
Read the current fees and withdrawal rules before setting a price. Merchant and customer charges apply, and transfer fees are deducted from your withdrawal. Plan the service around the amount you can use after applicable charges, rather than the checkout amount alone.
Use one verified account that belongs to you
Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.
Gammal Tech's individual onboarding does not require commercial registration. Your accepted identity document verifies the person who owns the account, and an eligible bank account in that same name receives the withdrawals. A professional display name for your service does not change who owns the earnings.
When verification is approved, you can create your project, set the required HTTPS Payment Callback URL in its settings and enable payments yourself. Use the payment link generator for your agreed service and supported currency.
Sharing a guest card link needs no SDK installation, secret key or domain whitelisting. The callback configuration is still required, but a complete online store is unnecessary. If you build a site for another service provider, use that provider's own verified account and project for their revenue.
Make the first paid service easy to repeat
After a client pays, check the transaction in your merchant records and match it to the agreed amount, currency and order. A screenshot or a confirmation-page visit alone is not enough. Confirm the start of work and deliver what you promised, then keep the handover and any revisions with the payment record.
A repeat customer may need a recurring service, such as monthly testing or a scheduled training session. Monthly and yearly recurring guest links are available in supported non-EGP currencies. Agree the recurring scope and cancellation terms before sending a subscription request.
Gammal Tech handles the VAT and tax obligations assigned to it under its service arrangements. Your personal income tax, local registration and reporting obligations remain separate. If you later move abroad, review your bank and residence requirements before changing the receiving route; any eligible withdrawal must still follow your verified identity.
Common questions
Can I open a Gammal Tech account without a company in Tunisia?
Gammal Tech allows individual onboarding without commercial registration as a provider requirement. You must complete National ID verification. Your bank's account eligibility and the local requirements applying to your activity remain separate.
Can I receive client payments through a normal personal bank account?
Ask your bank which account is appropriate for your professional income and residence status. Confirm the account's receiving currency and documentation, then resolve any unclear payout eligibility with Gammal Tech before accepting funds.
Will a card payment in euros remain in euros when I withdraw?
That depends on the eligible payout route and your bank account's permitted currency treatment. A EUR checkout alone does not guarantee EUR receipt or retention at every bank.
Does my customer need to register before paying?
No Gammal Tech account is required for guest card checkout. Send the payment link with a clear description of the service and agreed order reference.
Can I activate payments without asking support?
Yes. After verification, create a project in Developer Mode, set its HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments in the project settings. Contact support if a bank withdrawal arrangement is unclear, not to perform routine activation.
Can I use a relative's bank account for withdrawals?
No. Withdrawals go only to an eligible account in the same name as the verified Gammal Tech account holder.
