The key idea
An international payment gateway for a freelancer in Nepal needs more than a working checkout. Gammal Tech allows individual onboarding without commercial registration as a provider requirement, uses National ID verification and restricts withdrawals to an eligible account in the verified person's name. Confirm your proposed bank route and foreign-income documentation first, then create a payment-enabled project and share a card link for an agreed service.
Give your first client one clear outcome to buy
You do not need a large catalogue to begin selling services online. A defined website task, a translation project, an illustration package or a consultation can be a complete offer. State the outcome, delivery date, client inputs and revision limit before asking for payment.
Illustrative example: A developer in Lalitpur agrees to improve the mobile layout of a client's booking website in Germany. The proposal identifies the pages involved, the supported screen sizes and the handover date. A card payment link collects an agreed milestone, while the proposal explains exactly what the developer will deliver.
This approach keeps the payment connected to real work. You can start with a portfolio and direct client conversations, then add a more elaborate booking or ordering website once your service is established.
Separate checkout, platform balance and bank receipt
A customer paying by card is one stage of the process. The platform's record of that payment and the later withdrawal to your bank are separate stages. Check all three before promising that a particular payment arrangement is ready.
| Stage | What happens | Your preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Client checkout | The client authorizes a card payment | Agreed service, amount and supported checkout currency |
| Payment record | You confirm the transaction associated with the order | Order reference and merchant-side verification |
| Bank withdrawal | Eligible funds are sent under the withdrawal rules | Same-name bank details, receiving currency and documents |
A payment link is therefore different from giving a client direct bank-transfer instructions. Choose the route that fits the customer's needs and your confirmed receiving arrangements. For marketplace work, follow that marketplace's payment agreement.
Prepare evidence of your foreign income
Local bank documentation provides a useful starting point. Nabil Bank's USD Special Savings Account is described for eligible individuals with foreign-currency income and lists foreign-income source documents among its requirements. This illustrates why a clear client agreement matters as well as your identity document.
Ask your own bank which account is appropriate for proceeds from your service, what evidence it requires and which currencies it can receive. Explain that the remitter may be a payment platform rather than the customer named in the service agreement. Ask how to connect those records for the bank's review.
Confirm the proposed receiving bank, account and currency with Gammal Tech support before collecting funds. This article does not establish that a particular Nabil account, or any other bank account, is a supported payout destination.
The Nepal Rastra Bank Foreign Exchange Management Department publishes current foreign-exchange circulars. Use your bank's current instructions and those official materials when checking requirements for receiving service income. Keep the agreement, invoice, payment record and bank credit as one understandable trail.
Open an account in your own verified identity
Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.
Gammal Tech accepts applications from individuals without requiring commercial registration for individual onboarding. Register at Gammal Tech and complete National ID verification. One verified person owns the account, and only that person can receive its withdrawals into an eligible same-name bank account.
Use the same spelling and full name across your verification and bank details. If a bank document abbreviates your name or a name has changed, resolve that discrepancy through the proper verification process before requesting payment.
Individual onboarding does not remove Nepal's applicable local registration, income reporting or foreign-exchange requirements. Gammal Tech handles the VAT and tax obligations assigned to it under its service arrangements; your own personal obligations remain separate.
Create a card payment link for the agreed project
- Configure the payment project. Open developer mode, create a project and set its HTTPS Payment Callback URL. Payments remain disabled until the callback setting is complete.
- Agree the price and terms. State the exact service, supported currency, delivery date and what happens if the scope changes.
- Generate the request. Use the Gammal Tech payment link generator with the correct project and amount.
- Send a clear message. Include the order reference and a short explanation of the milestone being paid.
- Confirm the record. Check the payment in your merchant records before marking the order paid and starting the agreed work.
The guest card customer needs no Gammal Tech account. Sharing the link needs no secret key, SDK installation or domain whitelisting, although the project still needs its callback configuration. A complete online store is not required.
Plan the money you can use, not just the sale amount
Read the current fees and withdrawal rules before setting your service price. Merchant charges, customer charges, transfer deductions and possible currency conversion are different parts of the payment process. A USD or EUR checkout does not automatically mean your bank receives the same currency.
Use the confirmed withdrawal conditions when planning project expenses. Do not commit to a payout date that has not been confirmed, and do not treat a customer's screenshot as a merchant payment record.
If you later relocate, an eligible account you own in another supported country may be usable, subject to the receiving bank and applicable rules. The verified owner remains the same. For repeat clients, monthly or yearly guest subscriptions are available in supported non-EGP currencies; introduce recurring billing only when you have a clear recurring service to deliver.
Common questions
Can I receive international client payments without opening a company for Gammal Tech?
Gammal Tech's individual onboarding does not require commercial registration. You still need National ID verification, an eligible same-name receiving account and compliance with the requirements applicable to your work in Nepal.
Does having a SWIFT code mean my bank is automatically supported?
No. Confirm the exact account, receiving country, currency and bank instructions with Gammal Tech support. A SWIFT code alone does not establish payout eligibility.
What records should a freelancer in Nepal keep?
Keep the client agreement, service invoice, merchant payment record and bank credit together. Ask your bank which foreign-income documents it needs for your account and type of service.
Can I send a card link by email instead of building a full store?
Yes. A guest card link can be shared by email or message. You still need a verified account and payment-enabled project with its required HTTPS callback configured.
