The key idea

To collect a card payment, complete Gammal Tech identity verification, create a project, set its HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments. Egyptians can verify with their national ID. Generate a guest card link with the agreed amount and supported currency, then send it with the service terms. Confirm the recorded payment before delivery and withdraw only through an eligible bank account in your verified name.

1. Agree what this particular payment buys

Put the service, price, currency, deadline and revision allowance in a written order summary. Include the customer's required inputs and explain whether payment covers the whole assignment or one agreed stage.

Illustrative example: A data analyst in Mansoura offers a small business a review of an anonymized customer survey. The package includes data cleaning, a chart summary and one discussion of the findings. The order states the maximum dataset size and deliverables before the analyst requests payment.

Give the order a reference in your own records. Keep confidential customer information out of the public payment description. If the customer changes the brief, confirm the new scope and payment expectation before sending a replacement request.

2. Finish verification and activate your payment project

Gammal Tech offers individual onboarding without requiring commercial registration. Egyptian applicants can verify with their national ID; the account belongs to one verified person. Prepare a receiving bank account in that same name. Allow for the verification period instead of promising payment collection immediately after signup.

After approval, you can create a project in Developer Mode, open its settings, set the HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments yourself. The complete steps appear below. A full online store is unnecessary, but the required return-page setting must be in place.

Use the project's public name to help the client recognize who is requesting payment. If someone assists with setup, the project must still belong to the verified person who should receive the earnings.

3. Choose a currency and review the commercial terms

Choose the card currency agreed with your client. Gammal Tech supports EGP guest card checkout and supported foreign currencies such as USD, EUR and GBP. Including a card currency is different from using the account-based EGP wallet flow.

Read the current charges, refund arrangements and withdrawal rules before quoting. The customer's checkout total and your proceeds are different amounts. Explain the total the customer should expect and calculate whether your expected proceeds cover the work.

Refund options vary by payment method and currency. Under the current guide, EGP card payments cannot be refunded through Gammal Tech; review that rule before choosing EGP for work that may be cancelled. Use the central guide for changing conditions and charges rather than relying on an old quotation.

5. Keep the customer’s checkout simple and safe

Open the link to inspect the payment details and return page. Review it on a phone as well as a larger screen. The client should understand what they are buying and how to reach you about the order.

Let the client enter card information only in the hosted checkout. Do not request card photos, security codes or bank authentication codes in chat. If the client cannot complete a payment, check the transaction status before encouraging another attempt.

Gammal Tech has no test-payment mode or test cards. Completing a trial payment moves real money. Read the current testing and refund instructions before making a live charge.

6. Confirm the transaction before releasing the work

Check your own merchant records and match the payment to the expected project, order, amount and currency. A screenshot, a customer message or arrival on a return page is not sufficient payment evidence.

For a manually delivered service, record the confirmation and send an acknowledgement stating the next delivery step. If the result is unclear, resolve the existing transaction before asking the client to pay again. Keep payment status and work status separate.

Automated access needs trusted payment validation and a record that prevents duplicate delivery. A repeated notification must not issue the same entitlement twice. A guest card payment also does not automatically create a signed-in account for the customer in your service.

7. Connect the completed order to your bank receipt

Keep the approved order, transaction reference, delivered work and any revision or refund correspondence together. When you withdraw, compare the withdrawal record with the bank credit. Transfer charges are deducted, and any currency conversion may affect the final receipt.

Your bank account must be eligible and carry the same name as your verified identity. Ask the bank for accurate receiving instructions and resolve any account or currency uncertainty before collecting funds. The currency paid by the customer does not guarantee the currency retained by every receiving account.

The Egyptian Tax Authority's guidance addresses obligations for online activity. Gammal Tech handles the VAT and tax obligations assigned to it under its service arrangements; your own personal income tax, local registration and reporting duties remain separate. A gateway transaction record is not automatically a substitute for every sales document your activity requires.

Common questions

Do I need a physical card machine to accept this payment?

No. This workflow uses an online guest card link. The customer opens the hosted checkout on their device. You still need the verified account and required payment-project setup.

Can I activate payments myself after verification?

Yes. Sign in, open Developer Mode, create the project, open its settings, set the HTTPS Payment Callback URL and enable payments. Follow the full setup sequence below.

Can an Egyptian individual register with a national ID?

Yes. Egyptians can use their national ID for identity verification. Commercial registration is not required for Gammal Tech's individual onboarding, while local obligations remain separate.

Does sending a card link require my customer to register?

No Gammal Tech account is required for guest card checkout. The separate wallet flow does require an existing account.

Can I collect monthly card payments in Egyptian pounds?

EGP card payments do not support subscriptions. Monthly or yearly recurring guest links require a supported non-EGP currency and the customer's agreement to recurring charges.

What if the customer says they paid but the order is still unclear?

Check the recorded transaction and resolve its status before delivering or requesting another payment. Do not rely only on a screenshot or ask the customer to repeat a charge without checking.

Enable payments yourself in Developer Mode

Once your identity is verified, you can configure your project and turn payments on from your own account:

  1. Create your Gammal Tech account once and verify your identity with your Egyptian National ID, using an alternative document only if a documented Egyptian exception applies to you. Earnings belong to that verified person, and withdrawals go only to an eligible bank account in the same name.
  2. Allow for account verification. The published estimate is approximately 10 days, with approval notification by WhatsApp or email.
  3. Sign in to the Console using your verified account.
  4. Click Developer Mode.
  5. Create a new project, then open project settings.
  6. Set the Payment Callback URL, an HTTPS page where customers return after paying.
  7. Enable payments in project settings. Payments remain off until the callback URL is set.
  8. Use the payment link generator to set your project, amount and currency, then share the link with your customer.

Review the current payment fees, withdrawal conditions and refund rules before setting your price. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawal amount. Already verified? Start from the Console.
