The key idea

Use Gammal Tech to collect card payments for a service you sell as an individual in Ghana. Complete National ID verification, configure your project and required HTTPS Payment Callback URL, then share a payment link. Customer collection and your bank withdrawal are separate steps: confirm an eligible receiving account in your own verified name and read the current charges before taking orders.

Separate local payment habits from international checkout

When choosing a payment gateway in Ghana, start with the customer journey. A Ghanaian customer who wants to use a mobile wallet and an overseas company paying by card may need different payment routes. A useful setup gives each customer accurate instructions instead of treating every digital payment as interchangeable.

GhIPSS describes Mobile Money Interoperability as supporting transfers across mobile wallets and between wallets and bank accounts. That is part of Ghana's domestic payment context. This guide describes Gammal Tech's international guest card checkout; it does not claim Gammal Tech accepts GhanaPay, local mobile money or GhQR.

For a freelancer selling directly to a client abroad, a card link can provide a straightforward payment step without first building a complete online shop. For an established business focused on local collection, compare the specific domestic methods your buyers use.

Turn your skill into one service a client can buy

Begin with an outcome, not a catalogue. A customer should be able to tell what they receive, what they must supply and when the work will be ready. A small, clearly scoped service is easier to quote and deliver than an open-ended promise to do whatever is needed.

Illustrative example: A website specialist in Accra offers an accessibility review of five public pages for a client in Amsterdam. The agreement includes a prioritized issue list, annotated screenshots and one follow-up discussion; implementation is quoted separately. A card payment link accompanies that agreement, and the specialist keeps the transaction record with the approved scope and delivered report.

The same structure can suit editing, illustration, software support or remote administration. A payment gateway supplies the collection step; the value remains the useful work you perform and the confidence created by your communication.

Open an account as the person doing the work

Current registration documents: Use the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold, not a residence-only ID. An Egyptian passport is accepted only for an Egyptian living abroad without their Egyptian National ID available. An Egyptian birth certificate is accepted only for an Egyptian living in Egypt, under 15, who has neither a National ID nor a passport. Check the official registration requirements before applying.

Gammal Tech's individual onboarding does not require company registration. Your account is attached to one verified person, and international identity verification uses the National ID of a country whose citizenship you hold. Prepare the identity document and use consistent personal details when arranging your receiving account.

This ownership continues after the payment. Only a bank account belonging to that same verified person can receive a withdrawal. A service brand, trading name or collaboration does not permit sending the balance to someone else's account.

Gammal Tech handles the VAT and tax obligations assigned to it under its service arrangements. Your own income tax, local registration and reporting duties remain separate. Keep the service agreement and payment records from the beginning so your work remains understandable as the business grows.

Choose the receiving account with currency in mind

Customer checkout and bank settlement are different decisions. A supported checkout currency does not guarantee that every Ghanaian account receives the same currency. Ask your bank about the account type, inward-transfer instructions, conversion and documents for service income.

As one local example, GCB's foreign-currency account information describes USD, GBP and EUR accounts funded from outside Ghana. This is useful context for the questions to ask your bank, not confirmation that any GCB account is automatically an eligible Gammal Tech withdrawal destination.

Keep the three money questions separate
QuestionWhat you need to know
What does the client pay?The agreed service price, supported checkout currency and customer charges.
What is credited to my balance? The proceeds after the applicable platform charges.
What reaches my bank? The eligible withdrawal route, transfer deductions and any currency conversion.

Confirm the bank and currency details with Gammal Tech before you collect customer funds. A mobile-wallet number is not a substitute for the eligible same-name bank account required for withdrawals.

Make the second order easier than the first

After delivery, review what the client understood and what needed clarification. Refine the scope, lead time and handover instructions before your next quotation. Store the payment record with the order so a repeated amount from another client cannot be mistaken for the same purchase.

Use Gammal Tech's current fees and withdrawal rules whenever you price a new offer. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawn amount, and the customer should understand checkout charges before paying. Do not base a long-term margin on an old screenshot of a fee schedule.

If your work becomes a monthly service, agree the recurring deliverable and cancellation process first. Supported non-EGP guest links can use monthly or yearly recurrence. A recurring payment helps collect an agreed service charge; it does not create the customer relationship or ensure every future payment succeeds.

Common questions

Can I use Gammal Tech in Ghana as an individual freelancer?

Gammal Tech supports individual onboarding without company registration. Complete National ID verification and payment project setup, and confirm that your receiving bank account and transfer route are eligible before taking payments.

Will customers need a Gammal Tech account?

Customers using a guest card payment link do not need a Gammal Tech account. A guest payment also does not automatically create an account in your own application.

Does Gammal Tech pay my earnings into a Ghanaian mobile wallet?

The withdrawal model described here uses an eligible bank account owned by the verified account holder. This guide does not claim mobile-wallet payouts or integration with Ghana's domestic mobile-money services.

Can I receive my earnings after moving abroad?

You may use an eligible account you own in another supported country, subject to banking requirements. The beneficiary must remain the same verified person. Confirm the new receiving details before arranging the withdrawal.

Start with an account in your own name

Follow these actions in order. An already approved account can go straight to project setup:

  1. Create a Gammal Tech account in the name of the person who will receive the earnings and complete the registration checks. Wait for account approval before project setup; review can take up to 10 days. If that account is already approved, continue to the next step.
  2. Sign in and open Developer Mode. Select your project or click Create Project, then open its settings.
  3. Set the Payment Callback URL, an HTTPS page where customers return after checkout, then enable payments. Record the project ID, pid.
  4. Check current charges, refund conditions and withdrawal rules before setting the customer price. Prepare an eligible receiving bank account in the verified person’s name. Transfer fees are deducted from the withdrawal amount.
  5. Open the payment link generator. Enter that project ID, the agreed amount, currency and recognizable description. Review the generated link before sharing it with the customer.
  6. After the customer pays, check the transaction record and match the project, order, amount and currency before delivery. A return-page visit or screenshot alone is not payment confirmation.

Already approved? Open your project and use the payment link generator. Review the current payment fees, withdrawal conditions and refund rules before setting your customer price.
