The key idea
A useful MVP budget combines initial implementation, recurring platform charges and the people who keep the service usable. This worked Egyptian-pound model covers one small MeNooN website with selected Gammal Tech functions. It separates dated published prices from fictional work estimates, so a founder can replace assumptions with quotations before approving the build.
Define the service that this budget buys
Consider a fictional Cairo study-planning service. Its proposed first release has five pages, personal saved preferences, a signed-in information helper and brief owner notifications. It does not collect customer payments, sell course access or manage shared inventory. Payment and withdrawal charges are therefore excluded from this example, not assumed to be free.
The design uses one standard website address and the founder’s first Gammal Tech project, with personal records within the documented storage limit. The estimate assumes the required integration route has been confirmed. Any custom trusted logic, premium name, additional project or separately quoted creation usage needs its own priced line before approval. An unpriced requirement is not a zero.
Separate published prices from your team’s estimates
Prices below were checked on 12 October 2026. The MeNooN hosting guide lists standard names of at least three characters at 100 EGP monthly for Creator with one page, 400 for Business with five, and 1,100 for Architect with 25. This example chooses Business for one website address. Short premium names have different prices.
The Gammal Tech price information lists free login, logout, session checks and user JSON within the public limit. Each project has 200 monthly OTP codes free, then 0.40 EGP per code. Signed-in AI has 200 monthly calls free, then 0.20 EGP per call. Delivered owner notifications cost 0.40 EGP each without a free allowance.
This model uses signed-in AI only. A guest-AI call changes the allowance calculation and has its own charge, so add guest use explicitly if required. Hosting is not a promise of unlimited AI or every backend service.
Calculate three monthly usage scenarios
Use codes, calls and delivered emails as the quantities, rather than counting registered users. Monthly OTP cost is the larger of codes minus 200 and zero, multiplied by 0.40. Signed-in AI follows the same calculation with its 200-call allowance and 0.20 rate. Notifications equal delivered messages multiplied by 0.40.
| Scenario and quantities | API usage calculation | Hosting plus API |
|---|---|---|
| Low: 150 OTP, 100 AI calls, 25 emails | 0 + 0 + 10 = 10 | 400 + 10 = 410 |
| Base: 500 OTP, 600 AI calls, 100 emails | 120 + 80 + 40 = 240 | 400 + 240 = 640 |
| High: 1,500 OTP, 2,000 AI calls, 500 emails | 520 + 360 + 200 = 1,080 | 400 + 1,080 = 1,480 |
These are demand scenarios, not promised bills or estimates of market demand. Repeated user actions can change the quantity of calls. Measure actual usage after launch and update the model rather than treating the first forecast as a fixed subscription price.
Price initial implementation as actual work
Assume a fictional professional rate of 350 EGP per hour and 28 hours of implementation: four for discovery and architecture, four for content, ten for interface and integration, six for acceptance and failure cases, and four for handover. That produces 28 × 350 = 9,800 EGP. These hours and the rate are teaching inputs, not Egyptian market averages or a Gammal Tech implementation fee.
Ask a supplier to replace the hours with a scoped quotation and identify the deliverables. Include owner-controlled setup, testing and support instructions. If the verified design needs a separate business-rule component, obtain that estimate before approving the total. A page allowance cannot absorb unquoted engineering work.
For planning, reserve a further illustrative 20% of build work, or 1,960 EGP, for agreed uncertainties. The build provision becomes 11,760 EGP. A reserve is money set aside, not a fee automatically owed to the developer.
Include the monthly work around the service
Assume three, five or eight hours of monthly work in the low, base and high cases, valued at the same fictional 350 EGP rate. This covers content checks, frontend upkeep, usage reconciliation, support and provider review within the stated scope. A real agreement should define frequency and response expectations rather than sell an unexplained maintenance label.
| Scenario | Labour provision | Combined monthly total |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 3 × 350 = 1,050 | 410 + 1,050 = 1,460 EGP |
| Base | 5 × 350 = 1,750 | 640 + 1,750 = 2,390 EGP |
| High | 8 × 350 = 2,800 | 1,480 + 2,800 = 4,280 EGP |
If a contractor invoices these hours, they are an expected cash expense. If a salaried founder performs them, they represent time capacity unless additional pay is incurred. Keep that distinction visible in the cash plan, while still acknowledging that the work consumes resources.
Translate the model into a funding decision
Using the base scenario, build provision plus three operating months is 11,760 + (3 × 2,390) = 18,930 EGP. This is a scoped planning total before taxes and any separately quoted extras. It is not the company’s entire runway: marketing, equipment, rent, legal work and other business expenses sit outside this technology example.
Record when each amount must be available. MeNooN renewal is manual. For paid API use, wallet funding must be followed by allocation to the project balance as described in the integration guide. Do not count a transfer between your own wallet and project twice as expenditure. Reconcile delivered services and invoices separately from funding movements.
Finish with a budget another person can reproduce
Your worksheet should contain the dated rates, quantities, labour assumptions, excluded items, unresolved quotations and responsible owner. Have someone reproduce one usage calculation and the three-month total. Then ask which input would change first if customer use doubled or the feature scope expanded.
Approve the build when the scope and integration evidence support the numbers. Review the first month against actual usage and work records. A small startup gains control by making costs visible early: it can choose a focused release, pay professionals for defined results and add capability when customer evidence justifies the next expense.
Common questions
Is 18,930 EGP a fixed price for any startup website?
No. It is the result of stated fictional labour assumptions, a defined feature scope and dated platform rates. Replace the inputs and add applicable extras and taxes before buying.
Does choosing a larger MeNooN plan make every feature available?
The plan determines website capacity. Custom workflows, integration work and separately charged services still need their own scope, verification and budget.
