What you will finish
Your page turns rail width, fullness, panel count, finished length and user-entered allowances into provisional cutting measurements. It creates a clear measurement sheet to review with a curtain maker before buying or cutting.
1. Gather these details
- Measure the actual rail or pole span to cover, in centimetres. Do not substitute the window opening width when the rail extends beyond it.
- Choose the finished drop from a hanging reference point appropriate to your heading style. Agree that starting point with the maker so measurements remain consistent.
- Decide the number of equal panels and the fullness factor with your maker. A demonstration value of two is a design choice, not a universal rule.
- Obtain usable fabric width excluding selvedges, separate left and right allowances, and top and bottom allowances. Each must be an explicit input rather than an assumed hidden value.
- Begin with plain fabric whose orientation suits the drop, without lining or pattern matching. Those additional requirements need a different measurement model and review.
2. Define how the project works
Define a case the calculator can handle
Limit the first version to equal panels, each cut from one fabric width, with the drop running along the roll length. Explain that scope before the inputs. Roman blinds, unequal panels, lining and repeated patterns do not belong in the same simple result. If a visitor needs one of those cases, tell them to obtain a separate calculation. Establishing this boundary helps prevent an apparently precise answer from being applied to the wrong construction.
Calculate the flat panel and cutting width
Multiply rail width by the fullness factor to obtain the total flat finished width before gathering. Divide by panel count, then add the left and right allowances for each panel. Compare that cutting width with usable fabric width. If the cutting width is larger, withhold a purchase-length estimate and explain that joined widths are required. Do not silently turn a single-width calculation into a multi-width sewing plan.
Convert the drop into linear metres
Cutting length equals the finished drop plus the top and bottom allowances. Multiply by panel count and divide by 100 to convert centimetres into linear metres from the roll. This assumes a separate full drop for every panel. It may leave unused fabric across the width and does not optimise a cutting layout. If a supplier sells in fixed increments, confirm how the theoretical quantity should be rounded with that supplier separately.
Review measurements before placing an order
Show every input with its unit, the panel cutting dimensions, panel count and theoretical roll length. Have the maker check the hanging reference point, allowances and actual usable fabric width before payment. Recalculate if the fullness or roll width changes. The page should neither request room photographs nor store measurements. Include reset and a clear reminder that the result is a review aid, not an instruction to cut unreviewed fabric.
3. Work through an example
| Decision | Value or arithmetic | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Rail and fullness | 200 cm × factor 2 | 400 cm flat width |
| Panel count | 400 ÷ 2 | 200 cm each |
| Side allowances | 200 + 5 + 5 | 210 cm cutting width |
| Usable fabric width | 280 cm | 210 fits within 280 |
| Drop and allowances | 220 + 10 + 20 | 250 cm cutting length |
| Two panels | 250 × 2 ÷ 100 | 5 linear metres |
This example excludes lining, pattern matching, shrinkage and joins. Allowances and fullness are illustrative choices to confirm with your maker, not standard values for every curtain.
4. Set up your account and start the build
- Use your account or register.Visit www.gammal.tech/join. New account activation takes 1–10 days. Use a National ID from a country whose citizenship you hold; the official account guide explains the limited exceptions for Egyptian citizens. Submit identity documents only through the official registration process.
- Activate the WhatsApp subscription. After approval, open my.gammal.tech and add EGP 200 to your wallet, or use sufficient existing funds. Activate the monthly WhatsApp subscription in your account and check that it is active. Funding the wallet alone does not activate it. This subscription covers light personal use; website creation is charged separately.
- Open the building conversation.Message +201033998844 and send the following command by itself, including the required square brackets. Wait for confirmation of build mode:
[mode: build][mode: web]is an alternative for the same mode; you only need one command. - Send the request in the next section.Replace its placeholders and ask for exactly one page using an available name of at least three characters. Before execution, request an itemised quote separating the one-time build fee, EGP 100 for the first month of standard hosting and any additional usage. Ask how changes beyond the agreed scope are charged.
- Check the total and approve the build.Once you understand the quote, return to your account and add any missing funds. Return to WhatsApp and confirm the scope and price. Some simple sites take minutes; requirements and revisions affect timing. Open the resulting address and run this guide’s acceptance checks.
- Record the renewal date.MeNooN hosting renews manually: select the duration and confirm payment before expiry. Leaving funds in your wallet does not renew it automatically. Send
[exit], including brackets, when you finish the building conversation.
Budget: quoted build fee + EGP 100 hosting + EGP 200 for one WhatsApp month if it is not already active, plus agreed usage. Twelve months of standard hosting cost EGP 1,200; adding one WhatsApp month makes EGP 1,400 before build and usage fees. Keeping WhatsApp active for further months costs separately.

5. Adapt and send this request
Replace every bracketed placeholder with your real details. Copy this request after the assistant confirms build mode. Do not publish the illustrative figures as your own.
Build a public ONE PAGE curtain calculator on MeNooN called [name], in [language], for plain fabric and equal single-width panels without joins. No login or measurement storage. Inputs in centimetres: rail width, finished drop, usable fabric width, left allowance, right allowance, top allowance and bottom allowance. Also accept a user-chosen positive fullness factor and positive whole panel count. Finished flat panel width = rail width × fullness ÷ panel count. Cutting width = that width + left and right allowances. If cutting width exceeds usable fabric width, withhold the fabric-length estimate and request maker review because joined widths are outside this model. Cutting length = finished drop + top and bottom allowances. Total linear metres = cutting length × panel count ÷ 100. Display all inputs, units and resulting measurements. Reject missing or negative values and zero essential dimensions. Explain that lining, pattern matching, shrinkage and optimised cutting layouts are excluded. Never present demonstration allowances as universal recommendations. Include reset and a reminder to review with the maker before purchase or cutting. Before execution, separately quote the one-time build fee, standard EGP 100 first-month hosting and any other charge. Await my approval.
6. Test the result before relying on it
- Use rail 200, fullness 2, two panels, fabric 280, drop 220 and allowances 5, 5, 10 and 20.Expected result: Each panel cuts at 210 cm wide and 250 cm long; total theoretical fabric length is 5 m.
- Reduce usable fabric width from 280 to 200 without changing the other inputs.Expected result: The page reports that joined widths are needed and does not present 5 m as a valid purchase quantity.
- Try zero panels, a blank fullness field and a negative dimension.Expected result: The corresponding field requires correction, without division by zero or an answer from incomplete measurements.
- Restore the example and increase the bottom allowance from 20 to 30.Expected result: Cutting length becomes 260 cm and total roll length 5.2 m; cutting width remains 210 cm.
7. Use the project during its first week
Start with one window and write the rail width, drop and measurement reference point on paper. Have your maker review the sheet and calculator inputs before measuring another room. During the first week, ask someone buying fabric to try the demonstration and explain the difference between fabric width and linear metres. If that distinction is unclear, improve labels beside the results. Record unsupported situations such as joins and repeated patterns instead of adding them without a verified construction method.
An announcement you can adapt
Planning plain curtains? Organise your measurements at [website link]. The calculator shows panel width and cutting drop, then checks whether the chosen fabric width fits. Review measurements and allowances with your curtain maker before buying or cutting.
Questions about this project
Does the drop start at the top of the window?
Not necessarily. It starts at a point appropriate to the heading and hanging method. Agree that reference with the maker and use it consistently throughout the calculation.
What if the fabric is too narrow?
You need a joined-width design or a different material or panel arrangement. This calculator stops because it does not model joins; an unexplained length estimate could cause an insufficient purchase.
Can I use the result for patterned fabric?
Pattern matching may require additional roll length. This version excludes it, lining and shrinkage. Ask for a design-specific calculation before purchasing those materials.
