What you will finish
Finish with a private record of individual copies, loans, due dates and returns, with a distinct identifier for each physical copy even when several share a title.
1. Gather these details
- List the books you own or are authorised to lend and note their condition. Give every physical copy a separate identifier, including duplicate titles.
- Agree with borrowers on recording a short name or reference and return date. Avoid identity documents and keep telephone details in your existing private contact channel where possible.
- Decide on suitable Alexandria handover locations and times. Explain whether an extension is possible and how someone should request it before the agreed return date.
- Prepare four fictional copies and two sample loans. Test returning a book before transferring your complete history from notebooks or messages into the tool.
2. Define how the project works
1. Track the copy rather than just the title
Record a title, a unique copy identifier and a useful condition note, such as a marked cover. Two copies of the same title must not share one identifier. Use available, on loan and temporarily unavailable states. The third state is useful for a book needing attention or not currently offered for lending. A copy should not become available merely because it is not assigned to a borrower.
2. Record the agreement at handover
When a copy actually leaves, record a short borrower reference, handover date and agreed due date. Keep contact details in your usual private channel unless the tool genuinely needs them. Confirm the arrangement with a personal message the borrower understands. The register does not send automatically or impose new terms. An enquiry is not a completed handover, so do not mark a copy on loan just because someone has asked about it.
3. Separate due today from overdue
Show books due today separately from books whose due date has passed without a return. Use the local Egyptian date consistently. A copy due today should not be labelled overdue that morning. If someone requests an extension, agree first, then change the due date with a note of the earlier arrangement. Use the list to organise calm personal follow-up rather than generating automatic blame or public reminders.
4. Close the loan when the copy returns
Match the physical copy identifier, check its condition as agreed and record the actual return date. Preserve the loan history, then mark the copy available or temporarily unavailable if it needs attention. A promise to return is not a return. Once a week, compare records with the shelf and confirmed handovers. Correct differences promptly. This is a single-owner private tool; do not turn it into a team system by sharing credentials.
3. Work through an example
| Copy | Recorded situation | Expected list |
|---|---|---|
| B01 | On loan; due 17 October | Overdue by one day |
| B02 | On loan; due 18 October | Due today; not overdue |
| B03 | Returned on 16 October | Available; absent from overdue list |
| B04 | Temporarily unavailable | Absent from ready-to-lend copies |
The sample contains one overdue copy and one due today. These identifiers are test data, not records of a real library or borrowers.
4. Set up your account and start the build
- Use your account or register.Visit www.gammal.tech/join. New account activation takes 1–10 days. Use a National ID from a country whose citizenship you hold; the official account guide explains the limited exceptions for Egyptian citizens. Submit identity documents only through the official registration process.
- Activate the WhatsApp subscription. After approval, open my.gammal.tech and add EGP 200 to your wallet, or use sufficient existing funds. Activate the monthly WhatsApp subscription in your account and check that it is active. Funding the wallet alone does not activate it. This subscription covers light personal use; website creation is charged separately.
- Open the building conversation.Message +201033998844 and send the following command by itself, including the required square brackets. Wait for confirmation of build mode:
[mode: build][mode: web]is an alternative for the same mode; you only need one command. - Send the request in the next section.Replace its placeholders and ask for exactly one page using an available name of at least three characters. Before execution, request an itemised quote separating the one-time build fee, EGP 100 for the first month of standard hosting and any additional usage. Ask how changes beyond the agreed scope are charged.
- Check the total and approve the build.Once you understand the quote, return to your account and add any missing funds. Return to WhatsApp and confirm the scope and price. Some simple sites take minutes; requirements and revisions affect timing. Open the resulting address and run this guide’s acceptance checks.
- Record the renewal date.MeNooN hosting renews manually: select the duration and confirm payment before expiry. Leaving funds in your wallet does not renew it automatically. Send
[exit], including brackets, when you finish the building conversation.
Budget: quoted build fee + EGP 100 hosting + EGP 200 for one WhatsApp month if it is not already active, plus agreed usage. Twelve months of standard hosting cost EGP 1,200; adding one WhatsApp month makes EGP 1,400 before build and usage fees. Keeping WhatsApp active for further months costs separately.
For private saving, ask the builder to connect Gammal Tech sign-in and register the correct website address in your project. If requested, open the developer area, select the project or create it under the agreed quote, and copy its ID; never guess it. Check that the final site address is registered before testing saves. Each account has its own data. Test save and reload, then ask a trusted person using their own genuine account to check that your records are not visible. Do not share sign-in codes or create another account for yourself. User-data storage is free, with a 1 MB limit per user, so keep short text records rather than files or photographs. Paid sign-in codes may need project funds after the free allowance: fund your wallet, then transfer a usage budget to the project in the developer area. Sign-in does not automatically disclose identity or contact details to the site owner.

5. Adapt and send this request
Replace every bracketed placeholder with your real details. Copy this request after the assistant confirms build mode. Do not publish the illustrative figures as your own.
Build ONE PAGE on MeNooN for my private Alexandria book-loan register called [name]. Use Gammal Tech login and separate per-user storage, with no public borrower list or shared team dashboard. Store book title, unique physical-copy identifier, condition and available/on-loan/temporarily-unavailable state. A loan records a minimal borrower reference with permission, handover date, due date and optional note. Do not collect identity documents or payment information. Prevent a second loan of an already lent copy and reject due dates before handover. Separate due-today from overdue using the Egyptian date. Change an extension only after my confirmation and retain its note. Returning a copy records the actual date and preserves loan history. Do not send automatic reminders, add fines or promise visitor reservations. Include search by copy identifier, four removable fictional test copies and clear saving that preserves existing data when loading fails. Before building, quote the one-time fee separately from the first month of standard 100 EGP hosting for an available name with at least three characters, plus any usage costs. Wait for approval and explain phone-based lending and return entry.
6. Test the result before relying on it
- Enter B01–B04 and review them as of 18 October 2026.Expected result: There is one overdue copy and one due today. Returned and unavailable copies appear in neither list.
- Attempt to lend B01 again before returning it.Expected result: The operation is refused without replacing the original borrower reference or loan.
- Enter a duplicate copy identifier or a due date before handover.Expected result: The invalid entry is rejected with a clear correction prompt rather than creating an inaccurate record.
- Return B01, save, sign out and return to the tool.Expected result: B01 is available, its loan and return history remain, and it no longer appears overdue.
7. Use the project during its first week
Start with five copies whose locations you know. Record the first genuine loan at handover and compare the list with the shelf during the first week. Contact each borrower privately about an extension or return; never publish an overdue list. If you want neighbours to discover the reading corner, use a separate public information page or a direct contact route that does not expose this register. Assess whether copy labels are readable and records reduce message searching, then transfer the remaining books in checked batches.
Your first weekly review note
Reading-corner review: [number] copies are available and [number] are on loan. I will follow up on [number] agreed dates this week. My private register: [website link]. I will check copy identifiers at return and contact borrowers individually.
Questions about this project
Can I lend two copies of the same title?
Yes, with separate copy identifiers and loan records. The title alone cannot establish which physical copy was returned or who received the other one.
Can a borrower change their own due date?
Not in this version. They request an extension through your agreed contact channel, and you update the record after confirming the arrangement.
Can a library team use one account?
This version has one responsible operator. Team work needs separate accounts, permissions and change records; sharing login credentials or verification codes is not an appropriate substitute.
