Create it once. Keep the downloaded file.

To create a static QR code for a link, enter the full destination URL, generate the code, download its original file and scan-test it. To create a text QR code, enter the message itself. The saved code contains that URL or text, rather than a subscription-controlled destination provided by the generator.

Gammal Tech’s QR tool is a premium service: 200 EGP buys 30 days of unlimited premium static QR code creation. The workflow below uses Gammal Tech Wallet and a manual subscription purchase, with no automatic renewal for that Wallet payment. New accounts need a one-time activation period of 1–10 days.

Once your account and subscription are active, you can create codes in your browser without installing a design app. If you already know how to create a code and are choosing a file for a designer or printer, go straight to the QR code PNG vs SVG export guide.

Start with the content: a link or plain text?

How to create a QR code for a link

Use the complete address of the page you want someone to open, including https://. A static code for https://example.com/menu contains that address. It does not contain a copy of the menu, and it does not host the page for you.

Open the link before generating the QR code. Check that it reaches the correct page, works on a phone and is accessible to your intended readers. A public brochure link should not unexpectedly ask the recipient to sign in to your private account.

Text to QR code: when the message is the destination

A text QR code carries the words you enter, such as a short instruction, product reference or event message. A compatible reader can display that text directly. Reading embedded text does not inherently require an internet connection; opening an online link normally does.

Keep the message concise. More data can make the symbol denser, which matters when you place it in a small printed space. Do not encode passwords, private identity details or anything you would not want a person with access to the image to read.

Choose a link you can keep available

For printed materials, a stable page on a domain you control is often easier to maintain than a temporary file-sharing URL. You can update the content of that page while keeping its address. You cannot rewrite the address already encoded inside a downloaded static image.

Set up your account and 30-day QR subscription

Account activation, funding the Wallet and buying the subscription are separate steps. Keeping them separate makes the price and renewal arrangement clear.

1. Create or use your Gammal Tech account

Register at www.gammal.tech/join and complete the requested account information. A new account takes 1–10 days to activate. This is a one-time activation step for the account; an existing activated account does not need another waiting period for each QR subscription.

2. Add 200 EGP to Gammal Tech Wallet

Sign in at my.gammal.tech and add 200 EGP to the Wallet. This creates a balance for supported Gammal Tech services. Funding the Wallet alone does not activate the QR subscription. If your existing balance is sufficient, you can use it instead of adding more money.

3. Buy the subscription from that balance

Open study.gammal.tech, sign in with the same account and pay 200 EGP from your Wallet for the one-month subscription. You then have 30 days to create unlimited premium static QR codes with the tool.

The total subscription cost is 200 EGP, not 400 EGP. You fund the Wallet with 200 EGP, then spend that same balance on the subscription. You are not making two separate 200 EGP subscription payments.

The price is quoted in Egyptian pounds. It is approximately US$4 as a rough comparison, depending on the exchange rate; that is not a fixed dollar price or an additional charge.

Wallet payments and direct card payments have different renewal rules

Gammal Tech Wallet is a prepaid balance used to pay for Gammal Tech and other services that support it. For the subscription described here, you choose when to pay and it does not automatically renew through the Wallet. Paying this way does not give the service provider a recurring card-payment authorization or reveal your card number to that provider.

Do not confuse the Wallet balance with paying a service directly by card through Gammal Pay. Direct card checkout also keeps the card number from the service provider, but a card payment can include a recurring subscription if you authorize it at checkout. In that case, Gammal Tech handles the agreed collection and settlement to the provider.

For manual spending control, follow the Wallet route in this guide. To use the Wallet with another service, that service must support Wallet payments and you must have an activated Gammal Tech account.

Create, download and check your static QR code

  1. Open the QR tool on Study. Use the account with the active premium subscription.
  2. Enter the final URL or text. Check the spelling, destination and any extra characters. Make sure the value is what you want a reader to receive.
  3. Generate a simple version first. Start with a dark foreground, a light background and the standard square layout. This gives you a useful reference before changing the design.
  4. Add styling if it serves the use. You can customize colors and module shapes or add a logo. Scan-test the result after making these changes.
  5. Download the original export. Choose PNG for an image at its intended size, SVG for scalable QR artwork in a suitable design workflow, or PDF when that is the file your printer or recipient needs.
  6. Test what you will publish. Scan the downloaded file from another screen, or test a print sample at the final size. Confirm the exact text or destination, not just that the camera reacts.

Keep the original file somewhere you can find it later. A screenshot or a recompressed messaging-app image can lose the clarity of the original export. Do not crop away the blank border around the code.

For resizing, transparent backgrounds, logos and print-file choices, see which QR code export format to download. That guide explains why an SVG grid scales cleanly, why a logo may still be a raster image, and why a PDF is not automatically vector artwork.

Useful things to turn into a QR code

  • A website or landing page: link directly to the relevant page, rather than making a visitor search your homepage for the right information.
  • A restaurant menu: use a stable menu URL whose content you can update without changing the address printed on the table.
  • A PDF brochure: encode a public link to the hosted PDF. The QR image does not store the complete document.
  • A form, map or review page: enter the working share link and test it from a browser that is not signed in to your account.
  • A WhatsApp conversation: use a verified conversation link, then check that it opens the intended contact.
  • A short text message: encode the message directly when a website is unnecessary.

These are ways to use URLs or text with the generator. They do not mean the QR tool hosts your PDF, builds a menu website, runs a form or manages the linked service. Those destinations remain your responsibility.

What happens to a static QR code after 30 days?

The subscription controls access to creating codes with the premium tool. Its expiry does not change the URL or text already stored in an image you downloaded. You can keep using that saved static file.

A working destination is still essential. A domain can expire, a PDF can be deleted, or a page can become private. If a phone reads the code but the page fails to open, check the destination separately. A static QR image cannot guarantee the continuing availability of an external website.

When you need to create more codes after the subscription ends, manually buy a new period from your Wallet. You do not need to buy another creation subscription simply to keep using a QR code you already downloaded.

Common questions before creating a code

Is this a free QR code generator?

No. Gammal Tech’s tool requires the premium subscription described above: 200 EGP for 30 days. Unlimited creation refers to the number of codes during the active period, within the content, image and export limits shown by the tool.

Can I change the link after printing?

To change the encoded URL, create a new static QR code. If you keep the same URL, you can update the page behind it. A redirect link you operate can also change where that URL leads, but that is a website function, not editing the QR image.

Can I create a static QR code with a logo?

Yes, the tool offers logo customization. A logo changes the artwork, so test the final version. If a small or dense code becomes unreliable, reduce the logo or use a plain code with the brand mark placed outside its blank border.

Will a static QR code report how many people scanned it?

The static image does not provide a scan counter. Analytics on the destination page may measure visits, but a page visit is not a guaranteed record of every scan.

Does creating a code make the destination safer?

A QR code is a way to share data. It does not encrypt a public message or certify a website. Use a destination you trust and keep any required access controls on the destination itself.

Ready to create your code?

Prepare the link or short text first. Then use your activated Gammal Tech account, fund the Wallet if necessary and buy the 30-day subscription when you need the tool.
